In any given day, you can be assured that you will see a peafowl somewhere in the village, most commonly around the cultivation fields. They eat flowers of almost all the different varieties of crops grown in this region; they also love feeding on paddy seeds.
On a clear day, which is pretty much the majority, I also rush to the back of my village home to see the breathtaking sunsets. Each day is somehow different; it never disappoints, and the colours continuously change until the stars come out. I'm always humbled by the beauty of nature that surrounds me, reminding me of the simple joys in life. I feel a deep sense of gratitude for the tranquillity that this village offers.
