Day 7 - Gift

The rains ceased after one day, it looks like. The surrounding vegetation sprung to life after the showers, changing colour to a deeper green.

Vesak celebrations were approaching, which is a Buddhist festival to celebrate the birth, the enlightenment and the passing away of Lord Buddha. A young boy in the village gifted me a structure of a Vesak lantern in the shape of a Lotus flower, which is a sacred symbol in Buddhism. Vesak is one of my favourite festivals and I'm thrilled to start making this Vesak lantern in the coming days.
